On 27 May 2026 Akada announced it is folding into Studio Pro, with support continuing only through 2027. A migration is being decided for you. It doesn't have to be the one you were handed.

Your season keeps running

We migrate alongside your current system rather than on a cutover weekend. Nothing about your class schedule or your recital calendar has to move to suit us.

Pick your own processor

Payments run on Stripe in your own account. If the forced-processor experience is the reason you are reading this, that is the part that changes first.

When Akada is the better choice

• Akada at $60 flat with unlimited students was priced more honestly than most of this market. If Akada had a future, price alone would not be a reason to move.
• Thirty years of dance-specific workflow is real. Anyone replacing it — us included — has to earn that back.
• If your studio is closing or handing over inside two years, staying put through the 2027 support window is a perfectly rational choice.

Is Akada really shutting down?

Akada announced on 27 May 2026 that it is joining Studio Pro, and has said support will continue through 2027. Studios are being migrated to Studio Pro as the default path. Check akadasoftware.com for their current statement — we link to it rather than characterise it.

What happens if I do nothing?

You will be migrated to Studio Pro. That may suit you — Studio Pro is dance-first and has native recital and costume tools. It is worth knowing that its parent app is rated 2.6 out of 5 on the App Store across 40 ratings, and that parent login problems are its most common complaint.

Can you import my Akada data?

Yes. Send us an export and we will map students, families, contacts, balances and enrollment history, then show you the result to check before anything goes live.

Do I have to use your payment processor?

Payments run on Stripe. We do not own a payment company and do not make money on a spread between your processor and you.
